“The best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry.”–Robert Burns

Remember how I said I would ‘see you in a couple of days” in my last blog post? Yeah, that didn’t happen…At this point I feel I am like a really bad boyfriend, making promises to do better and apologizing time and time again only to revert right back to the same behavior… All I can say is, I’m working on it…

I often think about God sitting up there getting a good belly laugh at my expense. Obviously, I know that isn’t how it works, but I find it comical to play it out in my head sometimes…

God: “Oh she thinks she is going to blog? Oh Gin, do you ever learn?”

What actually happens….

  • The kids were on Spring Break and it was FREEZING for the most part!
  • Noah had a doctor’s appointment in Chattanooga. Our visit this time was with the nurse practitioner who is fantastic! She informs me that Noah’s doctor is moving to Pensacola to start an Autism Center there. Complete and total devastation! I have been so upset but I will blog about that later…
  • We leave the appointment to eat “linner”, as the kids call it at Sofa King Juicy Burger… It’s a dive type hamburger joint with the best damn onion rings I have ever put in my mouth!!! Y’all I am not kidding! Delicious! All their ground beef is fresh and local…The orders are large enough to share but I am not going to lie, I am getting my own next time!! They also have a window in front of where they make the milkshakes with liquid nitrogen…This was suppose to be really neat but my 3 didn’t experience this because the older two said, “No! I don’t want him to think we are staring at him!!” To which Matthew says, “What do you think the large window is there for?”…
  • JP might have taken 4 bites before complaining that his mouth, lungs, and stomach hurt… By the time we get in the car heading to Target he is rubbing his eyes and just unsettled. We no more than park and he says, “Daddy, I gotta throw up…” I yell, “Everybody get out! Get out! Get out!” Matthew unbuckled him just in time and thank goodness he did! Matthew went to grab some Benadryl while I grabbed tissues because he was so stopped up…We opened both there in the store, Wyatt says, “You are going to pay for those, right?” While Noah is just mad that we hadn’t made it to the Lego’s yet!!!

What happened the following week you ask? Oh, nothing but that my mama literally almost died from a bleeding ulcer! Seriously folks! She had a heart attack a little over a year ago so she was on blood thinners, then add medication for arthritis that causes ulcers/eats away at your stomach and it’s a dangerous mix! By the grace of God, my sister and her family had been staying there while they closed on a new house so she was going to take her to the emergency room. She ended up calling an ambulance and thank goodness she did! Mama was in the hospital for 3-4 days…. She is much better but still recovering a bit…☺️

All this mixed in with some DIY projects, trying to resow my yard, and a little bit of parenting these 3 boys I suppose it just got away from me…

Oh…and I built these planters for someone….

This was not an easy build… Someone ask me to build them, obviously having way more confidence in me than I do in myself! Thanks for the confidence boost!

You know you are an adult when you are this happy about grass growing!!
